Objectives
The main objective of PLASpain is to create a national multidisciplinary network
(engineers, physicists, biologists, biochemists, chemists, and food technologists)
organized under an interdisciplinary strategy to consolidate and promote research
in plasma technology applied to biomedical and agri-food industries.
The Network will establish links among leading national research groups in this field, enhancing their international visibility and paving the way for post-PLASpain continuity through access to international funding. It will also consolidate existing collaborations developed within the COST Actions PlAgri and PlasTHER.
Specific objectives (SO)
- [SO1]: Create a coordinated group with a hierarchical structure based on key areas: plasma equipment, biomedical and agri-food applications, characterization techniques (physico-chemical, microbiological, organoleptic, etc.), legislation, and safety. Each area will have a designated specialist and mirror, with adaptations, the work packages from the COST Actions PlAgri and PlasTHER.
- [SO2]: Strengthen each group’s research activity by pooling the know-how generated by Network members in the plasma field, with special emphasis on supporting early-career researchers.
- [SO3]: Enable shared access to specialized plasma and characterization equipment across Network members.
- [SO4]: Establish new interdisciplinary collaborations among Network groups to obtain preliminary results supporting joint research project proposals.
- [SO5]: Increase the Network’s research visibility by disseminating its activities and showcasing each group’s specific capabilities (via a website and social media presence).
